This page describes exactly what this site stores in your browser. It is short, because the site stores very little.

This page is updated whenever the site is. It describes how the site actually behaves, not what it intends to do.

In short

This site does not track you. There is no analytics, no advertising, no embedded social button, no profiling, and nothing is sold on.

The typeface, the images and the code are all served from our own server. Unless you act, no other company learns about your visit.

This list is complete. Nothing else is stored in your browser by this site.

Why we are allowed to store this

In Benin, the protection of personal data falls under Loi n° 2017-20 du 20 avril 2018 portant code du numérique en République du Bénin, whose book on the protection of personal data sets these rules. The authority responsible for enforcing them is the Autorité de Protection des Données à Caractère Personnel, the APDP.

Two different situations apply to this site.

Anything strictly necessary for the service you asked for may be stored without prior agreement. That covers the language you choose and your answer to the banner: without them, the site would ask you the same question on every page.
Everything else needs your consent, freely given, for a specific purpose, informed and unambiguous. Here, that means the Google map and nothing else.

Nothing non essential is loaded before you answer. Carrying on browsing, scrolling, or closing the banner with the Escape key does not count as acceptance: only a click on Accept does.

Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting. The two buttons sit side by side, the same size and the same visual weight, and no box is ticked in advance.

You can change your mind whenever you like: the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page reopens the banner. Withdrawing your consent takes the same single click as giving it.

You can also delete this information yourself from your browser settings. The site will keep working; it will simply ask you again.

Third parties

The map on the contact page is provided by Google. Until you click it, nothing at all is requested from Google: no cookie, no IP address, no page you were reading. What you see before the click is our own artwork. That click is therefore your agreement to that specific content, asked for at the moment it matters.

If you do open the map, Google becomes responsible for what it stores and what it does with it. We have access to none of that.

The "Open in Google Maps" link under the map loads nothing into this page: it hands the address to the maps application on your device.

The links to Facebook, Messenger and our partners' sites are ordinary links. No social button is embedded in the site, so none of those services knows you are here until you click.

Google privacy policy

The contact form

The form on the contact page sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser.

When you send it, your message is transmitted to and stored on our own server: your name, your email address, your message and, if you provide them, the service concerned and your preferred channel. We also record your IP address at the moment of sending, for the sole technical purpose of preventing abuse of the form. No third-party service receives any of it.

This information is used only to reply to you and to follow up your enquiry. We use it for nothing else, we do not sell it, and we pass it to nobody for commercial reasons. We keep it for as long as it takes to handle your enquiry, then remove it once it is no longer useful. The controller of this processing is Lawing Tech; you can exercise the rights described below by writing to us.

Our host's server logs

Like any web server, the one hosting this site may keep technical connection logs. They are not created by the site itself, and we use them neither to identify you nor to follow you from page to page.

The law gives you, over information about you:

The information this site stores in your browser does not identify you and is not sent anywhere. You can erase it yourself, at any time, without writing to us.

the right of access: to know whether we hold information about you, and what it is;
the right to rectification: to have inaccurate information corrected;
the right to object: to object to a particular use of your information;
the right to erasure: to ask for your information to be deleted.

How to exercise those rights

Write to us, call us, or come and see us. We answer within a reasonable time, and we may ask you to clarify a request that is not clear.

Complaining to the APDP

If our answer does not satisfy you, you can refer the matter to the Autorité de Protection des Données à Caractère Personnel (APDP), the Beninese authority responsible for the protection of personal data.

If the way the site works changes, for instance if an analytics tool is ever added, this page is updated first and your consent is asked for again.
